North Carolina police are investigating the shooting death of a man who forced his way into a Charlotte apartment.
Charlotte-Mecklenburg homicide investigators say the shooting early Sunday happened after the man struggled over a weapon with the man who lived in the apartment.
The apartment resident suffered a minor gunshot wound to the hand and the woman he was entertaining wasn't hurt.
The intruder was pronounced dead at the northwest Charlotte scene. His name and other identifying information is being withheld until his family is notified.
