A Carteret County man has pleaded guilty to domestic assault charges, according to the Clerk of Court.
Doug Starcke of Emerald Isle faced several charges from an attack in July 2011.
He was indicted on felony assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury, assault by strangulation and first-degree kidnapping.
The Clerk's Office reports Starcke pleaded guilty to felony assault by strangulation, misdemeanor assault inflicting serious injury and misdemeanor assault on a female.
The Clerk's office reports Starcke was sentenced to 150 days in jail for the two misdemeanors and will serve three days a month and that Starcke received a 60-month suspended sentence for the felony.
Court records indicate Starcke will be on supervised probation during that time, must pay court costs, is ordered to have no contact with the victim or her family and must also have an anger management assessment and comply with any other programs in regards to domestic abuse ordered under that assessment.

The newspaper reports the next court appearance is June 4.
According to several websites, Starcke is co-owner of South Swell Surf Shop in Emerald Isle and a managing partner of First Flight Solutions, which is affiliated with Transportation Impact.
