An Eastern Carolina man will spend at least the next six and a half years in prison after his guilty plea to sex crimes involving children.
Floyd Gaskill of Stacy pled guilty in Carteret County court this morning to eight counts of indecent liberties with a child.
The 63-year-old Gaskill was twice arrested this summer for the crimes, the last in late September.
District Attorney Scott Thomas says the man was sentenced to serve between six and a half years to just over eight years in prison, and will be on five years probation after his release from prison.
