Carteret County Man Charged In Sex Crimes With Teen

A 60-year old is now in jail accused of crimes against nature with a teen in the east.

Carteret County deputies arrested Daniel Peart Senior and placed him in jail under a $350,000 bond.

Deputies say the Newport man engaged in sex offenses with a 16-year-old girl that he knew. He's charged with two counts of crimes against nature.

His first court appearance is scheduled for Thursday.
