On and off quick downpours will be possible through Sunday afternoon. Heavier rain could bring another 1 to 3 inches of rain to a few locations late Sunday and into Monday afternoon.
A crash before dawn Wednesday knocked out power to nearly 300 customers, including a school.
Tideland Electric Membership Spokeswoman Heidi Jernigan Smith says a crash around 5 a.m. on Highway 264 and Turnpike Road resulted in downed power lines and a broken pole. Smith says 291 Tideland members lost power, including Mattamuskeet School.
The power was restored at 9:36 a.m.
The first day of school for students is Wednesday, and today is listed as a workday on the school calendar. However, a note on the website says the school is closed today except for the custodial staff.
