Campers are being told they must leave Hammocks Beach State Park's Bear Island. There will be no ferry service and no park rangers after Thursday morning.
Every campsite was booked for the Independence Day weekend, but thanks to Tropical Storm Arthur it's going to be a deserted island.
Campers will be refunded the $13 campsite fee for each night they cannot stay due to the storm. Some campers from Maryland are getting a full refund.
The only way on and off Bear Island is by private boat or ferry. The ferry's last run will be 10 a.m. Thursday at the park's Visitor Center.
Park officials will assess the island and water conditions Friday to see if they can get the ferry running for July Fourth.
