Camp Lejeune Troops To Pack Gear In Afghanistan

About 160 Camp Lejeune Marines and sailors are headed to Afghanistan to pack up and ship U.S. gear.

Those leaving Thursday are assigned to the 2nd Marine Logistics group. They'll collect, account for, clean and ship American gear and equipment from Afghanistan to various Marine Corps units that need supplies.

The Marines say properly accounted for gear and equipment can potentially save millions of dollars for the Corps.
