Camp Lejeune To Test Military Equipment

If you live near Camp Lejeune, your nightly sleep may be interrupted for a few weeks due to military training.

The Expeditionary Warfare Training Group Atlantic of Camp Lejeune will be doing training involving fixed wing aviation, artillery and mortars past the normal 12 a.m. curfew.

The training begins Tuesday and will continue through Friday, ending at 2 a.m. each day and restart August 12 through August 15.

Camp Lejeune said the extra night training is necessary for Joint Terminal Attack Controllers since there is not enough hours in the night during the spring and summer to fulfill required night controls.

The military training facility said the controllers must complete a minimum of two night controls prior to certification.

EWTGLANT will make an effort to lessen noise and finish the training before 12 a.m. Tuesday through Friday.

EWTGLANT will be training military equipment again from August 12 through August 15.
