A Camp Lejeune Marine is dead following a motorcycle accident Saturday night.
Our sister station, WECT, is reporting that 22-year-old Jonthan Hatch was killed as a result of a motorcycle accident around 9 p.m. Saturday.
The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the wreck that Wilmington Police say appears to have happened on Carolina Beach Road, heading downtown.
Officials say Hatch turned his motorcycle into the curve at the crossover where Carolina Beach Road, Burnett Boulevard and Third Street converge. Police say he then hit the median and landed on Burnett Boulevard.
Authorities with the Wilmington Police Department Traffic Unit continue to investigate the death at this time.
