CSX Closing Greenville Railroad Crossing For Repairs Moved To Tuesday

Commuters in one Eastern Carolina city will have to find another way around town on Tuesday.

CSX Railroad is closing the West Fifth Street railroad crossing in Greenville for emergency repairs.

Crews are expected to block off the crossing at 8:00 a.m. and work should only take one day.

Originally the work was going to happened on Monday, but CSX agreed to delay the start until Tuesday so the city would have more time to a safe detour for drivers.

The city says other crossings at Third and Fourth streets should not be affected by the repairs.
