NEW INFO: Greenville Burglary Suspect Tracked With Canine Unit

Police have released more details on a burglary suspect locked up in the Pitt County Detention Center.

Greenville Police say that officers responded to 98 Brookwood Dr., Apt. F around 11:20 Friday night for a report of a damage to property call in progress. Officers say that 22-year-old Markevious Cherry ran away from the scene and was tracked by a canine unit.

Officers say that Cherry was found in a wooded area near the Tar River.

Cherry was charged with 1st degree burglary, larceny, and injury to personal property.

Cherry is being held on a $200,000.
