Buck Sworn In As Sheriff's Association President

An Eastern Carolina sheriff has been sworn in as head of the North Carolina Sheriff's Association.

Carteret County Sheriff Asa Buck was elevated from vice president to president of the organization during the group's 92nd annual Training Conference that was held in New Bern this week.

Buck has been sheriff since 2006. Before that he served as a deputy, beginning in 2006.
