Book Sale To Benefit Sheppard Memorial Library

The Friends of Sheppard Memorial Library kicked off its annual book sale Friday at the Greenville Convention Center.

Most of the books are from donations around Greenville and Pitt County, while others are brought back from previous sales.

Jan Lewis is a librarian at ECU's Joyner Library, and expressed how important she feels reading is to our community. "I think that it's you know, it's one of the most valuable things that we can do. And certainly for people who have children, starting them off young reading to them and reading with them."

The book sale will continue Saturday at the convention center from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. All proceeds go to the library.
