UPDATE: No More Boil Water Advisory For Some In New Bern

The water boil advisory issued yesterday for residents along Kimberly Road, Dogwood Drive, N. Hills Court & Drive, and Laurel Street in New Bern has been rescinded effective as of 10:21 a.m. Wednesday.

The water system has been repaired and testing indicates the water is safe to drink.

Some New Bern water customers are being asked to boil their water because of low pressure and outages in the distribution system due to a water main construction.

Those affected are people on Kimberly Road, Dogwood Drive, North Hills Court, North Hills Drive, and Laurel Street.

Periods of low or no pressure in the distribution system increases the potential for back siphonage and introduction of bacteria into the water system.

The Division of Water Resources advises that when water is restored consumers boil all water used for human consumption.
