Updated: Tue 11:46 PM, Jan 08, 2013

The city of Jacksonville says the boil water notice for a section of Brynn Marr has been lifted.

The advisory was issued as a result of repairs that were made to a water line break in Brynn Marr on Brynn Marr road on Monday. The line was repaired.

State regulations require a boil water advisory to be issued if water systems lose pressure. There was no evidence of contamination and testing was performed according to the regulations.

The tests have been completed, and no evidence of contamination was found and therefore the advisory was lifted.

PREVIOUS STORY:

A water line collapse has prompted a boil water advisory for part of one Jacksonville neighborhood.

Those who live in the 600, 700 and 800 blocks of Brynn Marr Road, all of Carolina Circle and all of Meadowview Court are being told they should boil their water for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth and for food preparation. The city says there are about 30 homes affected.

A major water line broke this morning on Brynn Marr Road Monday morning with crews beginning emergency repairs.

Tests on the water that take between 24 and 48 hours have to be done before the boil water advisory can be lifted.
