Grand Opening Of Blackbeard Traveling Exhibit In Bath

A piece of pirate history will be celebrated as one local town welcomes its arrival Friday.

The Blackbeard's Queen Anne's Revenge traveling exhibit has arrived in Bath and will be welcomed with a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Historic Bath State Historic Site Visitor Center Friday.

The Queen Anne's Revenge was Blackbeard's flagship, which ran aground at Topsail Inlet, now known as Beaufort Inlet. Many 18th Century artifacts unearthed from the sunken flagship have been traveling across the state.

The ribbon cutting ceremony begins 10 a.m. Friday at the Historic Bath Site Visitor Center.

The traveling exhibit will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Tuesday through Saturday until July 26th.
