A storage building just behind a Beaufort County home burned to the ground Thursday afternoon.

It happened at a home just off of Terrapin Track Road in Beaufort County. Wes Williams with the Bunyan Volunteer Fire Department says they received the call around 3:30 p.m. When they arrived, the 20 x 30 foot out-building had burned to the ground. Williams says they're still unsure what caused the fire. While no people were inside at the time, there was a chicken coop attached to the side of the building. Williams says all of the chickens were saved.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
