Troopers said a bear was at fault when it crossed over a Craven County highway Sunday night, colliding with a car.
The Highway Patrol tells WITN at 9:48 Sunday night, they got a call of a crash along NC 118 near Riverside Road, close the the Craven-Pitt county line.
Investigators said it appears the bear ran across the highway, colliding with a car, but then took off.
We know EMS was called for one person in the car who was complaining of chest pains after the collision, but no injuries were reported.
The Highway Patrol said in this case of man versus nature, the bear was at fault. No charges are expected to be filed.
