Train Hits Truck In New Bern

A Penske moving truck parked on Hancock Street in downtown New Bern was clipped by a passing train causing minor damage to the truck.

No injuries were reported as a result of the accident.

Hancock Street is back open and all traffic in the area has returned to normal.

PREVIOUS STORY:

A train has collided with a car on the 200 block of Hancock Street in downtown New Bern. That's according to Colleen Roberts with the city of New Bern.

She says traffic into downtown is blocked from the west. North Carolina Railroad Investigators are on the way to the scene to investigate.

Roberts says for the next several hours drivers should use South Front Street and East Front Street to access downtown New Bern.
