Police have released new details about how a one-year-old, a 17-year-old, and a third victim were shot Tuesday night.
Williamston police said they responded to a call of shots fired around 7:20 p.m. Once officers arrived at the 400 block of N. Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, they found one-year-old Thomas Goddard III, 17-year-old Treante Howard, and Charisma Smith all shot. Police say Smith is 28 years old and she is the mother of the one-year-old.
Police said the one-year-old, and the 17-year-old were taken to area hospitals. The one year old was treated and released from Martin General Hospital. Police said both Smith and the teenager were taken to Martin General Hospital and later to Vidant Medical Center for treatment. No word yet on their condition.

Dispatchers in Martin County say the Williamston Police Department is investigating a shooting that happened around 6:00 p.m. last night. Highway Patrol dispatchers say their troopers were alerted to the search for a silver car in reference to shootings, in what they say were "several" locations, in Williamston.
