POLICE: Drugs Taken In Home Invasion Involving ECU Students

Six East Carolina University students were robbed in a home invasion that happened just before midnight near campus.

Greenville police say they were called to 1102 South Cotanche Street for an armed robbery. Police say officers made several attempts to contact those inside the home, but no one would answer the door. A short time later, the woman who originally called police, Bria Pass, came to the house with two others who said they were visiting when the robbery happened.

Pass told police they were all playing video games when three armed men came in and robbed them of money and cell phones. Pass, Jackson Stubbs and Jason McCleary are all ECU students, according to police.

Officers say they finally were able to contact the three men who lived in the house. Michael Landau, James Alston, and Matthew Beans admitted to having illegal drugs in the home that were taken during the robbery as well.

ECU says Landau, Alston and Beans are current students as well.

Police say they have made no arrests yet in the robbery.
