Authorities say two elderly sisters died after their car pulled out into the path of an oncoming 18-wheeler.
The crash happened around 9:20 a.m. at the intersection of 11 and Edith Drive in Grifton.
The Highway Patrol says the women were in a 1999 Buick that pulled out from Faith Baptist Lane. They died at the scene while the big rig driver was not hurt.
The victim's grandson says the driver was 74-year-old Jackie Boscarino, while his great-aunt, 79-year-old Ann Toulouse, was a passenger in the car.
The grandson says the two had just left his auto service business and were on their way to make a bank deposit for him when the accident happened. He says the two lived in the Scuffleton area of Greene County, but originally were from Canada.
The 18-wheeler flatbed jack-knifed into the median and one lane in each direction of the four-lane highway was closed for several hours.
Troopers say there will be no charges brought against the truck driver who is from Virginia.
