The pastor of a church that was destroyed by an explosion remains in the Jaycee Burn Center in Chapel Hill.

Monday afternoon the hospital said Solomon Adams remained in serious condition.

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office says the Love Tabernacle Church on Highway 264 in Pinetown was a total loss following a gas explosion. They say the call came in at 2:37 p.m. Saturday.

The Sheriff’s Office says that the explosion happened when a heater was lit. We’re told the pastor was injured by the explosion and transported to the burn center in Chapel Hill.
