Ayden Breaks Ground For Million Dollar Park

Baseball, softball, soccer and disc golf are just a few of the activities you'll be able to participate in at a new park that broke ground Friday in the Pitt County.

The town of Ayden celebrated its groundbreaking for the first phase of the Ayden District Park.

Mayor Steve Tripp says half of the million dollar facility will be paid for with a grant from the North Carolina Parks and Recreation, and the other half was raised by the town of Ayden.

Tripp says the first phase will include soccer fields, walking trails, a Frisbee golf course, and the first water splash park in Pitt County.

The first of phase of the three phase project will be open by spring 2014.
