Attempted Armed Robbery At Greenville Restaurant

A gunman tried to hold up a restaurant Friday afternoon in Greenville.

Police say it happened around 4:00 p.m. at the Captain D's on South Memorial Drive near 5th Street.

They say a man wearing blue hospital-type scrubs walked into the restaurant with a gun, but didn't get any cash.

He is described as a black man, with dreadlock hair pulled back behind his head, 5'9" tall and weighs 160 pounds .

The gunman made his getaway in a Ford Taurus. About a half hour after the robbery, police found on Skinner Street a vehicle matching the description of the getaway vehicle, along with a man fitting the description of the gunman.
