Army General's Hearing Continues For Sex Offenses

A judge plans to continue a hearing for motions before the court martial of a U.S. Army general charged with sexual misconduct.

Tuesday is the second of three days set aside for the hearings between prosecutors and defense attorneys for Brig. Gen. Jeffrey Sinclair.

Sinclair faces court martial in June on charges that include forcible sodomy, indecent acts, violating orders and adultery. He has thus far deferred entering a plea.

On Monday, the judge refused a defense request to split the proceedings into two trials. Sinclair's lawyers worried one jury hearing all the charges might end up prejudiced against Sinclair, but the judge ruled the jury of all generals were highly educated and likely to follow instructions.
