US. Marshals said the search for one of the US Army's top 15 most wanted fugitives is now over.

Investigators said between the summer of 2013 and through New Year's Eve of that year, 34-year-old Oscar Rodriguez allegedly forced his way into the bedrooms of two victims in Harnett County, North Carolina. Investigators said the victims were both an adult and a juvenile.

At the time, detectives said the then Army staff sergeant was based at Fort Jackson Army Installation in Columbia, S.C.

Detectives said those assaults in 2013 lead to charges of indecent liberties with a child, second degree rape, sex offense, sexual battery, and burglary.

On February 21st of this year, Marshals said the Army issued an arrest warrant for the staff sergeant for military desertion.

Detectives said they tracked the man through several states before locating him in Puerto Rico.

Early Friday morning, a task force arrested Rodriguez in Puerto Rico.

He is now in jail there, awaiting extradition to Harnett County, NC to face the charges against him.
