NEW INFO: Worker Hit During Greenville Gas Station Robbery

Greenville police continue to investigate an armed robbery at a gas station near Pitt Community College, and we've learned one of the victims was assaulted during the crime.

WITN obtained a police report showing one of the two men inside the Kangaroo at 4000 S. Memorial Dr. in Greenville Wednesday morning was hit by the gunman.

The report also shows the safe was unlocked, and the robber put cash from the safe into a sack before leaving the store.

Police say a hold up was reported at 6:15 a.m. Wednesday at the Kangaroo at 4000 S. Memorial Dr.

It's not clear if there were injuries at this time. Police had all entrances to the business blocked off this morning.
