One Arrested, 2nd Suspect Still On The Run After Washington Armed Robbery

A Beaufort County store was held up at gunpoint just days after Christmas and now one person has been arrested.

The Beaufort County Sheriff's Office says 20-year-old Adam Tate of Bath is charged in the December 27th armed robbery of Hilda's Country Store on Cherry Run Road in Washington. Deputies say he and another person, both with handguns and their faces covered, entered the store, took an undisclosed amount of money, and took off on foot. The search for the second suspect continues.

Deputies are looking for two men who robbed a Beaufort County store Thursday night.

Hilda's Country Store on Cherry Run Road was held-up around 6:15 p.m.

Deputies say two men came into the business and demanded money. Both had handguns and their faces were covered. After taking the cash, the two ran from the store.

Three employees were in the store at the time and no one was injured.

The Sheriff's Office says images from the store's surveillance system will be released when they become available.
