Another T-Hangar Project Underway At Pitt-Greenville Airport

A big economic contributor to Eastern Carolina is expanding yet again.

Officials at the Pitt-Greenville Airport broke ground Tuesday on a T-hangar complex that will be able to house planes in their own little mini-hangars.

That's in additional to the T-hangar built this past summer. T-hangars are unique in that they provide private spaces for planes as opposed to the open community hangars.

Each space will cost $225 a month plus electricity.

Officials say all of the spaces have already been scooped up by pilots who were put on a waiting list after the first hangar was built.

Future projects include demolishing some of the older hangars and rebuilding them to attract more corporate jets.
