Another school year is underway with most schools in Eastern Carolina returning to session Monday.
In Pitt County, students and parents lined up outside Wintergreen Intermediate School on the southside of Greenville.
The doors opened at 7:25 a.m. and students rushed in to greet their new teachers.
Fourth grader Chase Anderson told us what he liked about his school. "I like the intermediate side because all the teachers are nice and they have cool places, the library is cool and the music room is cool."
Students began the day with warm-up assignments to help get them back in a learning groove.
While Monday was the first day for many schools, it was the last day of summer vacation for Onslow County. School is back in session there Tuesday.
