Colorado Rockies pitcher Alex White was honored prior to Tuesday night's high school basketball game in Greenville between D.H. Conley and J.H. Rose.
White helped the Vikings to two state baseball titles before a stellar career at the University of North Carolina.
The #6 D.H. Conley baseball jersey is now officially retired however, it's unclear at this point if senior Davis Kirkpatrick will be allowed to wear that number for his final season at Conley before joining the ECU baseball team next season. Kirkpatrick wore #6 last season.
A short ceremony was held for Alex White prior to Conley's varsity boys game against rival J.H. Rose. Conley's boys team won 53-31. The Conley girls also won 68-41.
