The Vanceboro Fire Department responded to an abandoned structure fire Sunday morning.
Fire officials say it happened at 10 a.m. on Mill Avenue at the train depot. We’re told that this is the 3rd abandoned structure fire to happen within the last few months in the area.
Craven County Fire Marshal Stanley Kite says they are investigating the suspicious fire. Kite says a fire happened at the same location around 20 years ago.
