"A Chef's Life" Wins Peabody Award

There's more recognition for a national television show done right here in Eastern Carolina.

"A Chef's Life" on PBS has won a Peabody award. Named for George Peabody, the national awards recognize public service in the radio and television industry.

The show is hosted by Chef and the Farmer co-owner and chef Vivian Howard. It is shot mostly at her Kinston restaurant and features Eastern Carolina cooking.

The program is also a finalist for this year's James Beard Foundation broadcast journalism award.
