A winter weather advisory has been issued for all of eastern Carolina except Carteret, Onslow, and Duplin counties through 4am Friday. Rain and light sleet continues to fall through the area. Temperatures are still about freezing.
If you plan on traveling via Amtrak, plan on getting there at least an hour before your train is scheduled to leave.
Amtrak officials in Wilson say because of the Labor Day holiday and the amended schedule with Hurricane Frances canceling trains over the weekend, time is of the essence.
They say while you should always arrive ahead of time, and it's really important for the next three days as Amtrak tries to get their schedules back on track.
