New Way to Battle Skin Cancer

In about three years, you may not need the sun to get tanned. Researchers have discovered a group of molecules they say stimulate the cells that darken the skin. This means the risk of skin cancer could be lowered because the molecules, when activated, would act as a shield and form above the cells that make up your skin. The ultra violet light from the sun would then be absorbed by the group of cells known as melatonin and not the cell's DNA. The product, Melanotan, is in the final stages of testing and should be available in about three years.
