Two people were killed in a wreck on Interstate 85 in Guilford County, and authorities have charged a third person involved in the accident.
The state Highway Patrol says one car was disabled and parked on the inside shoulder Sunday morning, and a second car parked behind it to provide help.
The drivers of both cars were sitting inside the second car when a pickup truck weaving in and out of traffic drove into the left-hand emergency strip, hit the retaining wall and struck the second car.
All three vehicles caught fire. The occupants of the second car were pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrest warrants say Jose de Jesus Euzondo Balderas of Washington, N.C., is charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter. He's also charged with driving while impaired, driving without a license, reckless driving and underage consumption of alcohol. Balderas was being held Sunday night in the Guilford County Jail.
