It's "Walk Your Children to School Week" for Wilson Elementary Schools. As the school year gets underway, it's an opportunity for school officials and police officers to spend time with children and their parents who walk to school.
During the walk, officers take the opportunity to answer questions about safety. The week long program also gives officers a chance to show children the police are there to help.
Wednesday, officers visited Winstead Elementary School. School officials say they plan to end the week by visiting Vick Elementary School on Thursday.
