Greenville has a new city manager. His name is Wayne Bowers. He's scheduled to start November 3.
He served as city manager of Gainesville, Florida for nine years. Officials say Bowers will receive an initial salary of $140,000.
Mayor Don Parrott says he and the city council believe Bowers' experience with a major state university and hospital system will be an asset to Greenville. Bowers also has family ties to Eastern Carolina.
