Game Day Traffic Alert

Another home ECU football game Saturday means more traffic changes around Greenville.

Kickoff for ECU's game versus Southern Mississippi is at 6:00 pm. If you're not going to the game, you can catch all the action, live on WITN.

Greenville police say drivers should expect heavy traffic around the stadium particularly on Charles Boulevard and E. 14th Street.

Motorist not traveling to the game should avoid the following streets around the stadium: Charles Blvd, Fourteenth Street, Elm Street and Greenville Blvd. Police expect traffic on these streets will be extremely heavy prior to and after the game.

ECU has made changes in their parking locations. The lot at the corner of Greenville Blvd and Charles Blvd by the baseball and softball field is now Student Pirate Club parking.

Police say there will be no general handicap parking along Berkley Road as in the past. All general parking and general handicap parking will be on Charles Blvd at the Allied Health Building.

Shuttle buses will run from those parking lots at Allied Health to the stadium. There are also two small General parking lots on Fourteenth Street near the Dorms.

ECU parking lots will open at 12:00 PM.

Police tell us the following traffic restrictions will be in place at the conclusion of the game to help the flow of traffic. Motorist can expect these restrictions to be put in place around 8:30 PM.

2. Berkley Road leaving the stadium will have 3 lanes set up all turning right on to Fourteenth Street. Fourteenth Street will be coned off allowing three east bound lanes to Elm Street. At the intersection of Elm Street motorist in the right hand lane will turn right onto Elm Street, the center lane will continue straight on Fourteenth Street and the left lane will turn left on Elm Street towards Tenth Street.

3. Charles Blvd will be closed to South Bound traffic at Fourteenth Street. All traffic traveling south on Charles Blvd from Tenth Street will be diverted onto Fourteenth Street.
