Tropical Storm Gaston Churns Northward

Tropical Storm Gaston made its way into South Carolina Sunday with winds clocked as high as 81 miles-per hour.

Gaston is expected to continue to weaken as it makes its way Northward through North Carolina and Virginia. The biggest threats from Gaston appear to be torrential rains, localized flooding, and the possibility of tornadoes. Gaston will make his way through North Carolina Sunday Night and Monday.

Farther out in the Atlantic Hurricane Frances continues to pick up strength, now a category four hurricane with winds of 132 miles-per-hour.

The hurricane is expected to continue on a Westward track and possibly strengthen into a category five hurricane. Stay tuned to WITN-TV and log onto witntv.com for the latest information.
