Arrest Made In Convenience Store Shooting

A teenager has been arrested for shooting a convenience store clerk last month in Greenville.

Police have charged Keith Smith with attempted armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury. They say Smith tried to rob the Kangaroo convenience store at Arlington Boulevard and Evans Street back on August 8th. Clerk Brian Black was shot several times in the legs during the holdup.

Authorities say an additional arrest is expected.

Smith is in the Pitt County Detention Center on a $25,000 secured bond.
