Kinston Shooting Suspect Released On Bond

A man wanted for a shooting last week in Kinston is now back on the street after posting bond.

Police say Marquis Meyers turned himself in to the magistrates office on Tuesday. He was released after posting a $10,000 bond.

The 21-year-old was wanted for the June 24th shooting at the U.S. Mini Mart on Old Snow Hill Road. Police say Damarcus Jones was shot in the leg.

Kinston police have named a suspect in Thursday's shooting at a convenience store.

Police are looking for Marquis Myers of Kinston. The 21-year-old man is wanted for assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Damarcus Jones was shot in the leg at the U.S. Mini Mart on Old Snow Hill Road. Police say they were responding to a fight call around 12:15 a.m. Thursday when the call was upgraded to a shots fired call.

They say the 18-year-old Jones was taken to Lenoir Memorial Hospital by his twin brother.
