Greene County officials are looking at the possibility of getting financial help to pay for a new jail.
In a special session meeting Wednesday afternoon, county commissioners met to see if the Department of Agriculture can help pay for a new jail, and possibly an addition to the courthouse.
Officials say overcrowding is the biggest reason a new jail is needed. It would cost $7,000,000.
