For years there have been talks of developing the Moss Planing Mill site in Washington.
That's what developer Fred Fletcher of Moss Property Partners is trying to do. He wants to build upscale townhomes and condominiums along the Washington waterfront. There are also plans to construct a 90-slip marina, an inn and a conference center.
Merchants we talked to in downtown Washington say while they support building on the Moss Planing Mill site, they don't support building elsewhere on the waterfront because of its historic buildings. Fletcher says formal plans for this project will be announced in about 45 days.
