Park Service Closing Campgrounds

The National Park Service says all campgrounds in Cape Hatteras National Seashore are now temporarily closed due to impending weather impacts from Tropical Storm Gabrielle.

The National Weather Service is predicting that Outer Banks Group park units will experience the effects of Gabrielle beginning in the early morning hours of Sunday with high winds and substantial rains continuing through Monday.

The park service says Ocracoke, Frisco, and Oregon Inlet campground will be temporarily closed.

These campgrounds will reopen after the storm passes and any damage is repaired. Cape Point campground has already closed for the season.
