New Smoking Rules For ECU

The new initiative started August first at East Carolina University, but the awareness of it is now visible thanks to new signs close to the recreation center. Now, smokers will have to be twenty five feet from campus facilities in order to light up. Though some people may not agree with it, peer health's assistant director says their efforts are designed to help the majority of students who do not smoke. There is an exception to the rule for residence halls. Residents on the seventh floor of the Fletcher's dorm can only smoke in their rooms. All others have to be at least fifteen feet away from their residence hall to smoke.
