The New York City-based Transport Workers Union of America has endorsed John Edwards for president.
The union said yesterday the former North Carolina senator is the most electable of the Democratic presidential candidates. Edwards is to be in New York City today to accept the endorsement.
Edwards says he'll fight for the transportation workers.
Union President James C. Little says he thinks Edwards can win in November. Little says Edwards has been a steadfast supporter of organized labor.
Little says most of the other candidates bounce from Wall Street to corporate America to unions. He says Edwards has pretty much stayed on track with working families.
The Transport Workers Union has 200,000 members. It's Edwards' fourth union endorsement.
