Dry Weather Is Fueling Fires

It's incredibly dry in our state. The division of forest resources says the drought is fueling fires.

In the first five days of September, there have been 87 wildfires reported in North Carolina.

All of eastern Carolina is in a drought. About 15 counties are classified as being in a moderate drought, 14 counties are in a severe drought. either way.
