NC Elections Board Suspends Wright Campaign

The State Board of Elections says Rep. Thomas Wright can't collect campaign contributions until he files a campaign report for the first half of the year.

Wright's report was due July 27. Elections board official Kim Strach sent a letter to Wright yesterday that terminated the "active status" of his campaign.

Wright also is being investigated by prosecutors after the board said he didn't report more than $200,000 in campaign donations over the last six years.
